The council accepted two classes: one in Nursing on RNs,
the other in Engineering about Traffic Engineering.

Other business involved the approving of last week's minutes.

What we spent most of the meeting discussing was the proposed calendar
change.  The faculty feel strongly about it.  And the Faculty Senate
conducted a survey, which apparently they sent to MSP.  I have Stephanie
forwarding me an electronic copy now.  I also have a hard copy of it.  But
anyway, they surveyed about 600 students 70% of them from Southwest.  Mostly
all undergraduates, and the questions are not detailed and clear.

But most discussion revolved around faculty's ability to do research during
the winter break, the differences in the academic calendars of the other
colleges, accommodating graduate and international students, and others.
There were many implications that the proposed change would do more harm,
from the standpoint of the faculty members present.

Also, (this is not important) they served lunch--its was good and free!
